Eggplants need to be fed at the seedling stage, after planting in a permanent place, as well as during growth and development. Only then will they give a big, high-quality harvest. In addition, feeding eggplants is sometimes carried out when the plant lacks certain substances, which is always reflected in the appearance of the bush.

Top dressing seedlings eggplant

Not every gardener is able to grow good seedlings, but eggplants are grown in the northern and middle regions by the seedling method. So you need to know exactly how to feed young shoots so that they develop quickly and correctly.

Eggplant seedlings for the entire period of ripening sprouts need to feed about 3 times. Though many gardeners use 1 top dressing and grow up good plants. Why is that? Because the quality of the seedlings depends not only on fertilizers, but also on the general care, lighting, temperature in the room, land and seeds. So, it is not necessary to feed the saplings often - you need to look at their condition and in which case immediately respond with response measures. In any case, the first feeding of eggplants should be carried out no earlier than 20 days after the emergence of sprouts!

  • A glass of wood ash interferes in a liter of boiling water and insist at least one night. After that, the water is filtered and diluted in a bucket of water to reduce the concentration. 20 g of the resulting solution is poured under each sprout. This will slow the stretching of the seedlings, and increase the nutritional value of the soil. The procedure is repeated not earlier than in a fortnight.

  • 3-4 banana skins are poured with 1.5 liters of boiling water and infused for 3 days. Used under the root to enrich the sprouts with potassium.

It is important! To feed eggplants not often, you need to plant them in a well-fertilized soil. 400 g of humus is recommended to be introduced into the wells for planting - this will be an excellent feed for culture.

  • After picking sprouts in separate cups, it is necessary to feed the sprouts with complex minerals, for example, Ideal or Kemira wagon. For the preparation of the working composition on a teaspoon of one of these drugs is taken 5 liters of water. It is possible to use solutions every 12-16 days.

  • 3 g of superphosphate and 1 g of urea are mixed in a liter of water. The resulting substance is poured at the root.

  • If the seedlings stopped growing, and the leaves began to change color, the drug "Senor Tomato" or "Ideal" is used according to the instructions.

  • "Agricola-forte" and "Wage earner" are used to strengthen the root system.

It is also worth noting that biological preparations “Healthy Garden”, “Bioton” and “Biohumus” are well suited for feeding eggplant seedlings.

Iodine for plants is no less useful than for humans. If eggplants miss him, the fruits will decrease, the plant will slow down growth, flowering, resistance to diseases and pests will decrease. The first eggplants feeding with iodine can be carried out for seedlings. To do this, 10 liters of water is taken only a drop of iodine. The solution is mixed and used for watering instead of water once.

You can also use such a solution for tillage in the greenhouse or for picking eggplant sprouts, but no later than 15 days before planting. This will disinfect the soil and increase seedling resistance to bacteria and fungal spores.

How to feed the eggplant after transplanting?

After eggplant seedlings are planted in a permanent place, you can make the first feeding. Usually it is done about a week after planting, so that the cultures have time to settle down.

  • They take 30 g of superphosphate, 30 g of ash, 15 g of ammonium sulfate, scatter on the ground and carry out weeding so that the fertilizer penetrates at least a little into the soil. The specified amount of minerals is taken per square meter of beds. As watering, rain, they will gradually dissolve and penetrate deep into the earth.

  • 65 g of superphosphate and 30 g of potash salt fall asleep in 10 liters of water and stirred - watered under the bushes.

  • 20 g of fertilizer "Crystal" or "Kemira-Lux" diluted in 10 liters of water. After the agent has dissolved, 0.5 l of fertilizer is poured under each bush.

  • A liter of mullein infusion is mixed with 0.5 liters of chicken manure extract, a glass of ash and 10 liters of water. After the ingredients are mixed, the solution is diluted with water in a ratio of 1: 5 and watered eggplant.

For getting strong plants and a rich harvest for adults, eggplants are fertilized once in 14 days. But do not take it as a golden, relentless rule. It is advisable to monitor the culture and feed it when it needs it, especially since the weather does not always allow feeding in the open field.

Feeding eggplant in the open field is carried out several times. About fertilizing seedlings and after planting, it was said above. But what to do next? After the culture has been planted in a permanent place and it has been fed with a nutrient solution, it is necessary to give it time to grow and develop. Around the flowering period or a few days before it, you need to carry out one feeding. To do this, use organics: herbal infusion, mullein, litter. Most often, nevertheless, mullein is taken. A kilogram of raw material is diluted in 10 liters of water. After a week of infusion watering is carried out - 500 ml under a bush.

If the gardener chooses herbal infusion, then you need to pick greens (nettle, dandelion plantain and other similar herbs), chop it. A pound of grass is poured into 10 liters of water and they wait a week for it to infuse and then pour it over a half-liter jar under a bush.

It is important! During the setting and ripening of fruits, eggplants spend a lot of energy, so it will not prevent them from feeding them with a useful infusion or mineral solution. But in order not to harm the crop, you should strictly adhere to the recipe of cooking!

When the ovaries appear, you can do another feeding.

  • 30 g of foscamide and 15 g of superphosphate are added to 10 liters of water. The solution is used only for unprotected soil!

  • 0.5 kg of wood ash is taken into a square of the area and crumbled on the ground, can be mixed with water and watered.

  • 20 g of potassium chloride, 70 g of superphosphate and 70 g of urea interfere in 10 liters of water and used for its intended purpose.

  • 2 teaspoons of superphosphate and the same amount of potassium salt is poured into 10 liters of water and, after mixing, is used for irrigation.

  • 10 liters is taken a teaspoon of potassium sulfate, interferes, and the plants are watered at the root.

Feeding eggplants in the greenhouse

Indoors, for the most part, the same fertilizers are used as in open ground, with rare exceptions. However, in the case of greenhouses, feeding is much easier, because the weather conditions do not affect the procedure at all.

  • 30 g of potassium nitrate is poured into a 10 liter bucket of water. You can water this plant in an unprotected and protected ground.

  • 25 g of Kemira-Lux drug are poured onto a bucket of water. The resulting substance is irrigated under the root.

  • A liter of mullein infusion is mixed with 500 g of chopped nettle and 100 g of ash, and then poured into 10 liters of water. After 6 days, when feeding eggplants infuse, it is filtered and used for its intended purpose.

Eggplant Yeast Feeding

Yeast is a universal fertilizer. They can be used for many cultures, but recently they have started to use eggplants as a top dressing. There are many different recipes and some of them will be listed below.

  • Per liter of warm water is taken 1 g of dry yeast, 1 teaspoon of sugar. All is well mixed, put insist 3 hours, and then diluted with water in a ratio of 1: 5. Use the mixture for watering eggplant seedlings only 1 time!

Important! Any yeast solutions are used immediately after preparation. It is not recommended to leave them in reserve.

  • 100 g of live yeast is diluted in a bucket of water. The solution is covered with a lid (loosely) and set to insist day. The next day, 0.5 l of fertilizer is poured under each bush. Such fertilizer is effective immediately after planting the seedlings at a permanent place and during the fruiting period to increase the yield.

  • If there are many plantings, you can make a whole barrel of the solution from yeast. 10 kg of crushed greens (better than nettle) and 500 g of yeast (wet) are taken for 70 liters of water. After a day of fermentation, you can use the solution for irrigation.

Every gardener should know that feeding eggplants is carried out not only to increase yields, but also for the general health of the bush, its high resistance to diseases, pests. If you use fertilizers regularly, growing crops will never cause problems.
